How It Works:
HHRD selects choice animals, adhering to proper Islamic guidelines, perform proper sacrifice (Udhuiya/Qurbani), then proper portions & packaging of meat to be distributed amongst local communities around the world.
Helping Hand USA involves local communities in distributing fresh meat onsite after the sacrifices are performed, amongst the neediest families. This includes orphans, widows, and refugees, many of whom get to eat meat once a year on this occasion.
Udhuiya distributions in 11 African countries in 2016 benefitted 1,500 in Burundi, 1,500 in Chad, 1,500 in South Africa, 9,192 in Kenya, 2,250 in Uganda, 2,100 in Tanzania, 1,500 in Malawi, 1,626 in Rawanda, 1,500 in Mali, 1,500 in Ethiopia, and 5,880 in Somalia.
In Afghanistan Udhuiya shares from 10 cows and 10 sheep helped 2,569 people in 2016, which included orphans, widows and needy families Alhumdulilah!
Syrian and Palestinian Refugees as well as local needy Lebanese in 2016 were also assisted by our HHRD MENA team with the distribution of Udhuiya meat to 1,600 people. In Jordan a total of 9,496 refugee and local needy Jordanian families were assisted in 8 locations; a total of 94,960 individuals received Udhuiya meat Alhumdulillah!
In 2016, a total of 10 buffalo and 25 goats helped provide Udhuiya meat to 4,194 Nepalese citizens. W/hereas in Pakistan a total of 145,600 citizens in desperate need were provided Udhuiya meat in Punjab, Sindh, KPK, AJK, Gilgit, and Baluchistan.
In the Philippines 300 families were provided Udhuiya meat Alhumdulillah in 2016.
