Hurricane Irma Emergency Update:
Mexico: The 8.1 magnitude earthquake that struck Mexico early Thursday September 7th is being categorized as the most powerful to hit the country this century. With tremors felt as far as Guatemala the earthquake claimed the lives of 58 people and caused major damages to the cities of Chiapas, Oaxaca and Tabasco. An estimated 200 have been injured and 260 aftershocks have been felt since the earthquake struck 100 miles off the southern coast outside of Chiapas.

Carribean Islands: 95% of the buildings on the island of Barbuda have been damaged. It sustained winds of 150 mph. There is not time to recover since the island is waiting to be hit by another catergory 4 storm.

HHRD is a registered NGO in the region and has been conducting Seasonal and Emergency Relief projects in and around Chiapas. HHRD in Haiti:

HHRD has been providing relief since the devastating earthquake of 2010. The 7.0 magnitude earthquake killed over 230,000, injured over 300,000 and displaced 1.5 million people. During Emergency Relief of January 2010 HHRD organized 59 Rotational Clinics treating 20,000+ people. HHRD has ongoing Food Distributions, Seasonal, Healthcare, Orphan Support, Water for Life, Skills Development and Shelter Village programs. The Youth for Haiti program has allowed countless college students the opportunity to witness first-hand the humanitarian efforts of HHRD. HHRD is currently sponsors 300 Orphans.
